Who am I? Well that is a pretty good question. I believe that if you would have asked me this question a couple of years ago I would have told you that what I do for a living is who I am. I think that if you are in some form of sales (and maybe all lines of work) there is a point in your career where you let what you do and how good you are at it, define you. However, I have learned that is not who I am, it is only what I do. I would answer this question now by saying that I am a girl who loves God and seeks to be the best person I can be in all areas of my life. Am I always successful? No, but I have learned that perserverence is key and relying on God will get you through anything...in his time of course, which brings me to the title of my blog and one of the reasons I have named it "I'm in a hurry and don't know why".
My personality has always been to plan things. I have always had drive and ambition. I set goals and want to hurry up and reach them (I'm not always successful at following through, but that's a whole other post). I am always wanting to get to the next thing. When I was in high school I couldn't wait to get to college, in college I couldn't wait to graduate and get to the "real world". Once out in the working world, I couldn't wait to meet "the one" and get married....and so forth. My friend Andrea used to always say that the Alabama song "I'm in a Hurry to Get Things Done" described me to a T. Why was I rushin' rushin' til life was no fun??? I'm not sure why (and don't let me totally fool you, I have still managed to have some fun), but I have gotten better the older I get at trying to live in the moment and enjoy things as they come.
I decided to start this blog to share things as they happen and to help me enjoy the moment I am experiencing.
I plan (there are those words again) to share my thoughts on different things I experience in my everyday life, whether that be a review of a restaurant, a book I read, a recipe I try or just a "here is what happened to me today" post. It will really be just random rantings (another idea I had to name my blog, but Chris, my husband, thought the name I chose more appropriately describes me).
So do you really care what I have to say?? Maybe, maybe not, but here it is and if you decide to follow me through this journey cool deal! I welcome you! Otherwise it just gives me a way to put some of my thoughts out there!
My disclaimer: I am not a grammar pro (my best friend however is). I pretty much just type how I talk, which may or may not be correct grammar at all times. Sometimes I make up words and spell things wrong, but I am human. I don't mind a friendly correction. Hey how are you supposed to learn if no one ever tells you the correct way of doing things??
